Durham Regional Crime Stoppers is offering a $15,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible for the murder of Michael Nigris.

On Thursday, March 30, 2023, at approximately 8:25 p.m., members of Central East Division were called to a parking lot near King Street West and Park Road in Oshawa for a male who had been shot. Life-saving measures were performed; however, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The Homicide Unit has conducted an extensive investigation. Hundreds of hours of video have been reviewed, witnesses have been interviewed, and multiple investigative avenues have been pursued.

The suspect responsible for the shooting fled in a stolen black Ford F-150 Raptor, which was recovered shortly after on Dundee Avenue in Oshawa. Both Air1 and K9 attended the area but were unable to locate the suspect. A second suspect has ties to the stolen vehicle. Both suspects have been linked to the Lawrence Avenue West and Keele Street area in Toronto.

The first suspect is described as male, Black, wearing a black surgical mask, a dark hooded sweatshirt with a Puma emblem, black Puma jogging pants, and black Air Force One running shoes.

The second suspect is described as male, Black, with short dreadlock-style hair, wearing glasses, a black hooded sweatshirt with “Champion” written in white on the front, black pants, and black running shoes.
